DAY OF (NO) SILENCE -History of Day of (No) Silence: Started in the mid 90’s by two college students, Day of Silence has expanded to reach hundreds of thousands of students each year. Every April, students would go through the school day without speaking, ending the day with Breaking the Silence rallies to bring attention to ways their schools and communities can become more inclusive. Our speaker, Coley Alston was recommended by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion director, Mr. Michael Jones. Coley is from the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation in Pittsburgh. Students enjoyed Coley's presentation and activities. We hope to have more assemblies with Hugh Lane Wellness and Coley in the future. Thank you so much for coming to our school. ... See MoreSee Less
