Cindy Haigh has lived in Churchill since 2006. Her hometown is Uniontown in Fayette County. Cindy was a Health and Physical Education teacher for 36 years, 25 of which at Pittsburgh Public Schools. She has taught all scholastic grade levels, mentored student teachers, and participated in professional service work at the local, state, eastern district, and national levels. Cindy was one of twelve Finalists for Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year in 2006. She was an accomplished National Board-Certified Teacher, the first physical educator in Pennsylvania with the Early Adolescence to Young Adulthood certification. She has experience with curriculum writing, consulting, assessment, and teacher evaluation. Her son is a student at Spectrum Charter School, and she is a proud parent volunteer.
